Hillside Winery and Bistro
1350 Naramata Road
Penticton, BC

May 25, 2012

We have visited the Bistro twice now.  The first on our May weekend with D and B and than again in August with our boys.  Both times was amazing.  We never made it in for tasting the wine or purchased any.  Not sure well.  I guess we just need to go back to taste the wine.

This is a country village bistro that has a warm and cosy feel.  It was one of the first two wineries open on Naramata Bench in 1990. The Bistro features delicious seasonal locally inspired dishes and you can taste the Chef's creatively and passion in the food.  They have a great outdoor patio.

We went for dinner with D and B.   The evening had the good things in life to make it wonderful evening.  The company being the best part.  This Bistro is definitely one of the good things in life.

We started with the spice carrot and local apple soup.  This was wonderful with great favours thoughout.

S and D and I had the Confetti Duck leg grilled cheese sandwich.  It was filled with tasty tender duck meat, melted cambrant, cheery relish and caramelized onions..  I am in love.  The whole combination was delicious.  This was one of the best things I ever ate.

B had the farm chicken leg confetti with apricot and tarragon. It had a bean cassoulet.  This was also very tasty.

We returned on August 11, 2012 with the boys for lunch.    It was a smoking hot day and we said under an umbrella on the deck.  This truly is one of the good things in life.  A great  S, C and I had the burger.  E have the chicken sandwich.

Neither time we sat on the upper level patio where the views are suppose to be amazing.  We will need to return to try that.  Next time we will do a tasting and maybe even purchase some wine.

Rating I am in Love
