Lunch with Grandma in her neck of the woods

Who would have thought that Grandma lives in a neighbourhood with a cool, trendy diner!  We took Grandma here for a belated Mother's Day Lunch.   Great ambiance and a very cool place.  Didn't really have the feel of a diner more a restaurant feel.  A little larger than most diners and very clean and bright. This place was humming and we waited 45 minutes for a table, which we knew and were prepared to do.

Grandma ventured out a little earlier and got our name on the list.  She sat outside and they brought coffee out to her and kept it coming.

It's a bit pricy for a diner, but they can back it by using only locally sourced organic ingredients.

We had:

Black bean soup: Corn, cilantro, onions, red peppers & lime. Served with garlic baguette.
S, Grandma and I enjoyed this.  Very tasty.  The beans were solid and not mashed which I really enjoyed.  I also liked the corn.

Spicy Chorizo Pork Burger: Broek Pork chorizo & ground pork topped with sautéed balsamic onions, granny smith apples, bacon, Sylvan Star peppered gouda, butter leaf lettuce, tomato &
chili mayo.

S and Grandma shared as well as E and I (two dishes total). There was a lot of meat, and was rich so half a plate was just perfect.   Lots of flavours and very tasty.

All in Omelette: Local naturally cured bacon, Broek Pork sausage and back bacon with bell
peppers, green onions & Sylvan Star peppered gouda.

C decided to go for breakfast. Alot of food for one!   He really enjoyed it.

Food rating: Lots of love
Service rating. Very Passionate

Conclusion

We really enjoyed our bunch with Grandma. This is a great brunch spot and we will definitely return.
